MOBILITY

Mobile interfaces, also referred to as high-accessibility interfaces, bridge the divide between the Silo access and power in the field. These interfaces are coded specifically for mobile processing platforms such as smartphones, tablets and personal digital assistants, but can also be accessed from traditional computing platforms.  These interfaces are divided into two clearly distinguished classes based on objective, implementation and communication philosophy:

.mobi interfaces:

These interfaces are purpose-built for smartphone computing platforms, but works perfectly on other platforms such as tablets or laptops. These interfaces utilise a live link to the hosting Silo environment, and as such are considered real-time interfaces. The operational purpose of the different .mobi interfaces vary considerably, with the majority requiring access to a controlled interface, and the remaining being exposed as all-access to a controlled interface and open to non-credentialed users. Current.mobi applications include:

  • Silo Mobile:  Interfaces ranging from DME 115 statistics, tasking screens, real-time dashboards, risk assessment screens and medical process screens.
  • Action page: The action page exposes all information pertaining to tasks allocated to a specific user including all legal mentions or company standards relevant to the action in question as well as real-time document management system and a real-time action diary.
  • Reaction page: Reactions are generated by Silo’s automation ability and are used to notify a pre-configured escalation tree of the assosiated knowledge sets – it may include analytical advisorys, risk/crisis notifications or communication that require operational intervention.
  • Visual observations: Silo supports the reporting of observed non-comformances from the field through the use of the visual observation page.

Hybrid mobile:

The hybrid mobile system differs from the .mobi applications in that it is coded to be deployed onto the hosting device, and can function without a real-time link to Silo’s environment. Synchronisation of data between the main Silo environment and the Hybrid environment occurs ad-hoc, usually through a criteria-based instruction from the user. Data matching the user’s request is transmitted to the hosting device, and committed to a local (device) database. This database is then used to support the following application features:

  • Dashboards
  • Analytical advisories
  • Actions/tasking and action monitoring
  • Event management
  • Visual observations
  • Static reports

Mobility at AQPSA

Due to a combination of AQPSA’s drive for innovation, investment in a reliable communication backbone, and the abilities of Silo’s framework, a significant portion of Silo’s abilities has been made available as mobile interfaces. This places the sophistication of Silo in your pocket, ready at hand, as it should be.
